Joe Brennan at the Centre for Creative Practices, Sunday 31 January

Joe says:

I am hosting a group of Storytelling Students from Norway on Sunday next at the Centre for Creative Practices, 15 Pembroke Street Lower, D2 from 2.30 to 4.30pm. I will be telling them stories and interacting with them. I said I would invite along others who wanted to come along to meet them and maybe share a story.
They are studying on a course which is similar to our PLC courses that involves Storytelling, Stand up and singing.

  1. Well done, Joe. Thanks for inviting us.
This was a solid afternoon of fairly short folktales told in a very natural style by Joe, with an interval followed by another two, very short tales by Joe, and then the intro to the Arabian Nights by Adam and The Oh-Aissieux.
As usual, there was great disappointment at the "end" when Shahryar says to Shahzaman: Come back with me and watch what I do.
The Norwegians seemed to enjoy all the stories, and asked a series of very intelligent, practical questions at the end.
It was good to have the opportunity to see this venue, which includes a comfortable room with stone walls, deep carpet, coloured cushions, with various paintings and sculptures around the place.
Also, Shane gave a very good introduction to Milk and Cookies for those who had not heard of it before.
